FAQs
Am I eligible for a consultation with LEYA?
Any individual residing in or physically present in a Canadian province or territory is eligible for a consultation through the LEYA platform.
Please note that any prescription issued as part of your consultation can be transmitted exclusively to a pharmacy located in Canada, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Why choose LEYA?
Our clinicians have dedicated expertise in travel health and are authorized to prescribe the preventive measures, medical treatments, and vaccines required for your destination, in full accordance with current regulatory standards.
Your consultation is conducted entirely remotely and takes only 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the number of travelers — a simple and efficient process, all from the comfort of your home.
Following your assessment, you will receive our comprehensive Travel Health Guide, a clear and structured resource designed to help you identify common tropical diseases, recognize warning symptoms, and know exactly what steps to take should the need arise.
Our clinicians can support you in the prevention and management of the following conditions, among others: traveler’s diarrhea, typhoid fever, malaria, yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, Zika virus infection, acute mountain sickness, as well as nausea and vomiting.
Most over-the-counter medications are covered under public and private drug insurance plans. When appropriate, our clinicians can prescribe them to help offset the cost of your consultation.
What does the consultation process involve?
The consultation begins by completing a short online form. A healthcare professional will then contact you to gather additional clinical information and explain the recommended treatment plan. If applicable, a prescription will be securely sent to the pharmacy of your choice.
When will a clinician contact me after I submit my form?
Depending on the nature and urgency of your health condition, a healthcare professional will contact you within 24 to 72 hours. For non-urgent travel health consultations, please allow up to 72 hours for a response.
What should I do if I have not received a response after submitting my form?
A healthcare professional will contact you within 72 hours of submitting your travel health form. If you have not been contacted within this timeframe, please email us at travel@cliniqueleya.ca.
What should I do if my pharmacy has not received my prescription?
If your pharmacy has not received your prescription on the day of your teleconsultation, please email us at travel@cliniqueleya.ca so we can verify the transmission and resend it promptly.
